Survivor Celebration - Inspiring and Empowering Cancer Survivors

Most people know the story of Job in the bible, how he went through great trial and tribulation, lost just about everything and finally made it through the other side.

In Job 6:11, Job says: “What strength do I have, that I should still hope? What prospects, that I should be patient?"

Have you ever thought or said those words? I know I have. I spoke on Saturday in Denver to a group of doctors, nurses and cancer survivors on the topic of surviving, thriving and celebrating life. When I mentioned that I believe we'll see the end of cancer in our lifetime, only two hands were raised in agreement. After a little prodding and encouragement, I asked a second time who believes that we'll see the end of cancer in our lifetime and more hands were raised and some even clapped and shouted "Yes!" This was a room full of people that were fighting cancer. Some had been fighting for their lives and some had lost hope. Some just needed to hear others in the room say that there is hope, that good news is coming.

If you're in a place where you are not sure if you have hope for your health, a relationship, a job, a business deal or whatever it is you are dealing with, know that there is hope. The key with Job is that while he was losing everything, he somehow found the ability to place his faith in God that hope was not dead. There were many times that things got worse for him just when he thought things could get no worse. But he kept the faith.

Keep the faith. Pray to God. Reach out to Him and ask for strength. Things might not turn around at the moment you expect them too, but have faith that things will get better.

Do you know someone that's going through some tough times? Reach out to them today and take a minute to let them know there is hope. If it's you, and you need to talk with someone, feel free to call me at 443-463-5009 or email me at ajaliwins@gmail.com.

Thanks AJ,
Today in group, at the Caring Place, a member was able to give us great news that she is at this time in remission and cancer free! There are many here that are now cancer free, but struggling with life still. We also have several that are having a hard time. It is wonderful to give them a hug, and let them know that they are not alone.
Many prayers and hugs to all,
Laurie
