What a stark contrast in my weeks. This time last Tuesday, I was walking a fine line with my vision, afraid that another downturn was close at hand, only to be elated by the contact mistake a few hours later. What a wonderful relief! Chloe has been a part of our family since March 31st. I am filled with pride each morning as Katie gets her ready for the day. She wakes her with laughter in her voice and a smile on her face. She is more natural with this baby than I could have ever dreamed possible. I expected Ronnie and I to be spending a lot of time caring for her but even on the weekends she is a part of the clan....Katie's friends take turns holding her, they fuss over her, and she basks in the attention.

Balance is fascinating. Words repeated many times over. My life is limited because of cancer, yet it is at the same time full. Every minute counts because I truly know that it might be my last. The things that I am accomplishing are not great feats, but I would not be doing them had it not been for my diagnosis. I've met people that would have never crossed my path without this disease and I wonder why it is that they have. What is my purpose?

After two days of a hectic and productive visit to Chicago, I arrived back at O'hare airport ready to sleep on the plane ride home. There was just over an hour left before my flight and no one around for outside baggage check. I visited the self-serve ticketron only to find that my ticket wasn't recognized. I proceeded to the American Airlines ticket counter followed by several teenage boys. They were concerned about missing their flight so I waved all of them ahead of me.
