Survivor Status:
Survivor (In treatment or post treatment), Friend of a Survivor, Fitness Professional
About Me:
I provide wellness coaching for cancer survivors to live their best lives through my program "Healthy and Fit After Cancer." I partner with organizations/cancer centers to write grants so I may provide this at no charge to their patients, employees, or community members. Wellness coaching is great for anyone wanting to improve their health, fitness or overall well-being and happiness (eat better, exercise more, lose weight, reduce stress, and/or build strategies for improving happiness). Coaching sessions are mostly done by phone, so it is convenient and private. Our recent pilot study showed significant improvement in quality of life, reduced depression, and improvement in lifestyle behaviors. I also speak to groups about healthy survivorship.

Help rescind new guidelines for mammography

When I saw the headlines in USA Today on Tuesday morning (Nov. 17), I was in shock. I was in Washington DC attending a cancer event and caught the headlines on the way out the door. I was outraged, to put it mildly, and couldn't believe what I was reading. It went against every expert opinion or study I had come to know and trust.

After my diagnosis of breast cancer in 2004, I spent a lot of time researching how we detect breast cancer, because I had four large tumors that were not visible on a… Continue

Hope and Inspiration-Listen to this interview!!!

There are times in our lives that we meet people who are so remarkable, we can’t stop talking about them. There are people we want the world to know about. My friend, Suzanne Lindley, is one of those people. Suzanne inspires hope in all those who are fortunate enough to be in her life. I wanted to share that hope in the form of an interview with her, so more could experience it. The interview is around 30 minutes, not near enough to detail the many pieces of what makes her remarkable, yet hopefu… Continue

Hi Kiddo! My two oldest girls (one a grandmother already!) came to be with me after the fall. and with the news that I may now have Leukemia or Lymphoma. I kept things lite, because I just decided I'm not going to have it. It's my body , it will just have to take another ticket. No I'm not on anything. LOL I was told when the Emt's put me on the Life Flight to talk to my hubby, they told him, not me I wouldn't make the flight to Seattle alive. I was taken into ICU for three days, with a Strong Blessing and two friends there praying too , plus all of you praying I was in a regular room on the third day(Looked like a plump racoon) I was sent home on the fourth day. I saw two surgeons to repair the smashed nose, the swelling went down and all the bones fell back into place, No surgery needed. That is why I'm betting on the Good Lord wants me around for a little while more. All my prayers and Blessings are with you all.

Hi Pam! It was great chatting with you. I do have a question for you. Above you mentioned a "Survey" what is this? Can anyone take it?? Who do you have to contact? It is 9:30PM here so I am going to turn in. I had Aqua therapy today, it is great to do something to "fight back" against my body, but it does get even with me on the energy level. May God Bless you and Keep you, till we chat again.
Best wishes

“AJ, I'm buying the first 100 for my ministry with the team. This is an excellent resource -- clear, applicable, well written! You and Vera have written one of the most significant and useful devotionals I've seen in a long time. Ravens players and coaches will love this tool for training camp! I'm excited to see it go to print and I'm honored to be a friend of one of the co-authors, a true champion indeed.”
