Survivor Status:
Survivor (In treatment or post treatment)
About Me:
In 2002 I had a carcinoid tumor removed from my colon. I was told that they got it all and to follow up with colonoscopies. I followed up faithfully with my gastro doctor and was released from the oncologist in 2005. I had no treatments. The oncologist just checked my blood. In June 2008 I had severe pains between my rib cage which resulted in a MRI. The MRI showed that the cancer had metastasized to my liver. I have 7 to 8 tumors up to 2.5 cm. The only carcinoid sympton that I have is asthma. I have been on sandosatin LAR 20 mg since August 2008. After seeing a specialist, the treatment plan is to have the Sir-Sphere Treament in January and February. Then chemoembolzation in the summer.

My octreo scan also showed that I have a small tumor in left shoulder. The doctor recommended Zometa to treat the bone metastases, but I'm concerned about the side effects.

“AJ, I'm buying the first 100 for my ministry with the team. This is an excellent resource -- clear, applicable, well written! You and Vera have written one of the most significant and useful devotionals I've seen in a long time. Ravens players and coaches will love this tool for training camp! I'm excited to see it go to print and I'm honored to be a friend of one of the co-authors, a true champion indeed.”
