- I HAVE BEEN MARRIED TO GRETCHEN FOR 49 YRS.
WE HAVE 4 CHILDREN AND 10 GRANDCHILDREN ALL LIVING IN DES MOINES
I HAVE OWNED A AUTO SALVAGE YARD FOR 35 YRS.
IN 2007 I HAD THE HIC CUPS ALL THE TIME , I WENT TO THE DR. FOR A CHECK-UP , AT THAT TIME I HAD A BARIUM SWALLOW AND WAS TOLD I HAD ESOPHAGEAL CA. THAT WAS ALSO IN A LYMPH NODE AND 3 SPOT ON THE LIVER. I HAD RADIATION FOR 30 DAYS AND CHEMO FOR A YEAR. LABOR DAY AFTER THE PET SCAN I WAS TOLD THE TUMOR IN THE ESOPHAGUS AND LUMPH NODE WERE GONE.
WE THEN DECIDED TO DO CYBER KNIFE ON THE 2 LARGEST TUMORS IN THE LIVER, THE RESULTS WERE GOOD TUMORS GONE. OF COURSE WE STILL HAVE THAT ONE PESKY ONE LEFT, WENT TO IOWA CITY IN MARCH 2009 TO BE EVALUATED, ALL WENT FINE EXCEPT FOR THE INS. PART, THEY ARE CALLING THE PROCEDURE EXPERIMENTAL BECAUSE IT IS ESOPHAGEAL CA. TO THE LIVER AND SAY THEY WON'T PAY. THATS WERE SUZANNE COMES IN AND EVERYONE ELSE THAT HAS ANSWERED OUR E-MAILS.
TOMORROW WE ARE GOING TO THE RADIOLOGIST ONCOLOGIST AND TALK WITH HIM ABOUT CYBER KNIFE AGAIN, WE HAVE TONS OF CONFIDENCE IN THIS DR.
