I NEVER win anything, so being nominated and named as one of the top 10 finalists in the Livestrong Give 100% has been incredible; really unbelievable! I've read through all of the stories several times and I see young, vibrant faces that are fighting hard in the trenches to make a difference. It is inspiring to see what wonderful accomplishments can be achieved in the face of a disease that takes so much. There have been losses, successes, fundraising, awareness efforts, support, friendship, advocacy and so much more and through all of it great progress is being made. Ten made the finals. I'm sure many more were nominated. Consider the numbers and then read through the comments on each and it is suddenly apparent that there really were many more than ten finalists....an army of people that are giving 100% and more. How lucky all of us are to be surrounded by so many cheerleaders!
I was traveling when the actual voting was taking place for the contest so I only saw glimpses of the page. It wasn't until later that I discovered the comments. They warmed my heart, they made me laugh, they took me down memory lane, and many times over I would find tears over and over again. I've never doubted how blessed I am...it is evident day in and day out. But to have these words of encouragement, gratitude, love, and hope is something that I will hold extremely tight.
Katie and Karlie made a collage with every message and then also put each on a note card for the "treasure chest." If I ever get lost in the darkness all I have to do is look at your words...they will brightly light the way.

I regret I came in to this too late to be able to vote for Suzanne but I certainly believe she to be well worthy for this title. She is indeed a blessing and great encouragement to us all whatever the outcome of the vote!
